Baptism For Remisision
We read in scripture, "Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins..." Acts 2:38. Many believers have been falsely indoctrinated to believe that the blood of Jesus is “applied” only through water baptism in the name of Jesus.
Hebrews 9:22, “And almost all things are by the law purged with blood; and without shedding of blood is no remission. Jesus shed His blood upon the cross so that sins would be remitted. The blood of Jesus is applied through covenant, and a believer enters into covenant through the baptism of the Holy Spirit.
God applied (sprinkled) the blood of Jesus Christ on the spiritual things that came from above where Christ sits at the right hand of the Father (Col.3:1). The blood of Jesus is applied to the things that He uses to mediate the covenant on a daily basis.
This is why we see the apostles writing about government, truth, and Spirit; the gifts, callings, and graces of God; prayer, preaching, and prophecy. These are the tools of the New Covenant upon which God sprinkled the blood of Jesus Christ for remission of sins. Water baptism is not a daily tool, Jesus cannot mediate through it, the operation of God is not in it, therefore it is absent of the effectual working power of the Holy Ghost. Jesus advocates only on the terrms of His covenant for which He shed His blood (Heb.13:20).
We cannot preach remission of sins by preaching water baptism. We preach remission of sins by preaching that Jesus is the Son of God, the Saviour of the world, and that He died for the sins of the world and rose again from the dead on the third day and that He ascended into heaven.
We preach that He sent the Holy Spirit as the baptism that He gives and that through this baptism of the Holy Spirit all who believe will receive remission of sins.
The Church has been HYPNOTIZED by Satan into thinking that the application of water was the means of Jesus mediating the covenant. Jesus does not mediate the covenant through the application of water. There is NO POWER in the water to make a connection between the blood of Jesus and the remission of sins. Jesus gave the SPIRIT to provide remission of sins. The Spirit uses all the things of Christ (the tools of the New Covenant) and causes a daily cleansing by giving life to the soul.
When the church replaced the baptism of the Holy Spirit with the baptims of water the place value of remission of sins shifted from the Spirit to the water.
This is why Christians do not understand the value of tongues.REMISSION OF SINS
This is why Christians do not know how to offer the spiritual sacrifices of their faith.
This is why Christians do not understand the cycles of their growth.
This is why Christians do not know the difference between earth bound tools and the heavenly tools of the New Covenant.
Remission of sins is more than the forgiveness of sins. God forgave sins on the basis of grace and faith alone. This is why God granted righteousness to the repentant sinner before the baptism of the Holy Spirit. All this takes place WITHOUT the application of water.
REMISSION: The act of remitting; the act of forgiving; to refrain from exacting punishment for; a temporary subsidence of the force or violence of a disease or pain. (source: dictionary).
Everything that we partook of in the kingdom of darkness produced a soul that was spiritually diseased. Remission of sins is not only the forgiveness of sin, but the healing of that spiritual condition.
The spiritual condition of iniquity does not suddenly disappear after the repentant sinner makes a confession of faith. We do not receive a brand new human spirit. Even after we are baptized with the Holy Spirit, the contradiction exists. This is why God provided for remission of sins on a daily basis through the Spirit.
There is a primary purpose for God using the baptism of the Holy Spirit to seal our faith. God engrafts the Holy Spirit within our heart to SEPARATE us from the world to Himself and JOIN our faith to Him through covenant so that we may serve Him acceptably through this CONTACT. It’s through this separation and contact that we know Him, and remission takes place.
Iniquity can be likened to the state of a house after a fire. The soul, as the house, lies in ruins. Ever since we were born we were faced with the frailty of need which developed an appetite which became a power which Satan directed to destroy our soul. This state of the soul is called iniquity.
This effect of sin on the soul influences and molds the inner man and takes several different forms in character and personality according to the experience and molding of the individual. There are violent forms of iniquity, intellectual forms, religious forms, passive forms, and deceptive forms, to name a few. These in turn fall into three main categories, the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes and the pride of life (1Jn.2:16).
The fruit of iniquity (bitterness, malice, envy, pride, hypocrisy, ect) acts as a release to bring satisfaction by offering a completing of an emotional or intellectual cycle, but the result is always bondage and death.
2 Corinthians 3:17 reads, “...where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is LIBERTY." The word ‘where’ depicts the places in the soul the Spirit visits to bring the healing of Christ which in turns brings freedom (liberty) from sin.
All that God does through the Spirit puts an end to the disease of iniquity by making void it’s power. This is remission of sins.
Romans 3:25 reads, "Whom God has set forth to be a propitiation through faith in His blood, to declare His righteousness for the REMISSION OF SINS THAT ARE PAST."
When the apostle wrote that God does not remember our sins (Heb.10:17), it was not in the sense the God is forgetful, but in the sense of God not calling them to mind to set a policy to condemn us for sin. Because Jesus shed His blood for the forgiveness of sins, God sets a policy for the healing of the soul from the effects of those sins, to release us from the power of sin.
Titus 3:5, "Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to His mercy He has saved us, by the WASHING OF REGENERATION, and the RENEWING of the Holy Ghost." Here again we see that God associated the cleansing of the soul with the Spirit, the connection is NOT made with water baptism.
The soul was created by God without sin. Regeneration is the work of the Spirit to release the soul from the bondage of sin and death by returning the soul to the virtues of Christ. Our soul is being cleansed (washed) from the old Adamite nature and its former contact and labour with iniquity. The change that comes from this daily washing is called regeneration. We can also call it:
- "THE DIVINE CHANGE" because it is through regeneration that we become partakers of
- "THE DIVINE NATURE" (2Pet.1:4).
It is the Holy Ghost that causes this effect in the soul. That is why regeneration is called:
- “the renewing of the Holy Ghost”, and
- “The effectual working of His Spirit” (IThes.2:13), and
- “The Divine Power"(2Pet.1:3).
This healing that Christ brings frees the soul from its former molding pattern with iniquity; this is the work of regeneration; this is remission of sins. Here is where your relationship with God forms.
I Peter 2:24, "Who His own self bare our sins in His own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness; by whose stripes you were healed." This speaks of spiritual healing. The next verse confirms this. For we read, "For you were as sheep going astray; but are now returned unto the Shepherd and Bishop of your souls." Jesus provides the spiritual healing for our souls and in this way nurtures our souls and brings our souls into His care. Our daily experience of regeneration and remission of sins is His care.
Does a believer experience remission of sins because h/she mentally reflects on the moment he/she took that dip in the water, or because the Spirit of God is actively at work within them?
When remission of sins is placed in the water instead of the baptism of the Holy Spirit, the faith of the believer is DISENFRANCHISED from the power of God and believers are subjugated to the appetites of the flesh; equity does not reign in the heart because Jesus is not able to mediate the covenant when faith is removed from His Headship.
Salvation is a daily experience which takes place, not through the remembrance of the application of water, but through the active and present work of the Spirit. Water symbolized the cleansing to come through the Spirit. This is why Jesus allowed Himself to be water baptized by John. When Jesus approached John to be baptized by him John in the river Jordan John said, "I have need to be baptized of thee, and comest thou to me?" (Mt.3:13). John immediately recognized Jesus as the superior pristhood and himself in need of Jesus' baptism of the Holy Spirit. But Jesus said, "Suffer it to be so now: for thus it becometh us to fulfil all righteousness) (Mt.3:15), meaning that it was necessary for Jesus to submit Himself to this sign of baptism to show that He was the transition.
He was transitioning the covenant from Moses to Himself. He was transitioning baptism from water to the Spirit. Water baptism carried the symbolism of cleansing by God and the hope of the promise to come, but the symbolism carries no power to effect change. The reality is carried by the Spirit. This is why the church must return to the one and true baptism, the baptism of the Holy Spirit which is evidenced by tongues.
